When Julie came to me she was used to working
on year long or longer projects from the ground up.
While the builders she worked with loved her design talent, she was always struggling to keep up with deadlines. She was constantly busy, just not often productive.
It was "lucky" that inevitably the builder would have delays, and it gave Julie a chance to catch up.
Constantly feeling like she
wasn't on top of things meant Julie was frequently stressed out and feeling caught up in overhwhelm.
Our first action step was to have Julie complete a two week time diary so she could see exactly where her days were disappearing to.
(No one likes doing a time diary; it requires dedication and a willingness to take that hard look at where you've been wasting time.)
What showed up was eye opening.
She began each day by putting out fires from the day or week before. Julie was managing by crisis.
She didn't have a clear plan to start each day created the day before, so rarely got to the items that were deadline sensitive and required her creative attention to keep her projects on track.
In showing her how to leverage some simple systems for time management and eliminate the constant stream of crisis, she was able to take back control.
This week, on Friday, I'm doing a complimentary BRAND NEW LIVE WEBINAR TRAINING, and going to show you one of the key systems I coached Julie in.
