My office doorbell rang, I was interviewing
for a new assistant.
When I opened the door, I met a spaghetti strapped, stiletto heeled, blonde design school graduate who clearly had no idea what a designer really does.
It was painfully obvious that she wasn't going to be a fit, so I kept the interview short and said NEXT.
My next hire wasn't a whole lot better. We were dimensioning a
client's condo and I noticed she was struggling with the tape measure (I'm not making this up, true story.)
I asked what the trouble was and she said "I can't read the little black lines, so I usually round up to the big black lines." Seriously?
Let's face it, hiring is hard, at least it used to be for me until I got tired of trial and error and developed a procedure that
works.
I've created my own specific process that cuts out the time wasters and totally wrong fits so you get to the RIGHT HIRE a whole lot faster.
