When I launched my design practice, there was
a lot of schlepping I had to do.
You know the feeling. Lots of lifting, hefting, toting, and hauling whether it was samples from vendors to clients then back to the vendor, or lamps and accessories for an installation, or rug options to a client, then back to my resource.
And when I brought my first intern on board, that was what I had them do first, the schlepping.
I focused on the selecting (that's the fun part) and then let them handle the lifting, hefting, toting, and hauling. I even purchased a van specifically for their use to make it easy.
Now, there are a lot of other things I've come to delegate over the years.
Before I even opened for business, I'd delegated bookkeeping (I know what I suck at.) And, I had an accountant
on board.
The key to your successful design practice is to get exceedingly clear on what you are good at and what you love to do and delegate the rest.
Join me this Friday for a BRAND NEW LIVE (online) TRAINING where I'll show you precisely how to do this quickly and effectively.
You'll learn in detail:
**How to Identify What to Delegate to Avoid Overwhelm
**How to Document Your Processes to Minimize Time in
Training
**Where to Find Great Talent Fast Online and Offline
**Key Interviewing Tips so You Hire Right the First Time
**How to Build a Team Online & Offline that You Can Rely on to Build Your Business
There is truly no glory in doing it all yourself unless you want to brag about taking the fast path to burnout. I don't recommend it.
Instead, let me show you how you can get focused on what you do best, and truly delegate the rest, so your business grows, is profitable, and you love it!
Let's prosper by design, together.
Mega Hugs,
Melissa
PS. We all start out doing it all. The designers that succeed are the ones who build a team of support and
talent to serve themselves, their business, and their clients. BE ONE!
