It's been a week of wrinkles,
challenges and last minute scrambles.
As I write this, I'm getting ready to head down to the Serenbe Showhouse and install the front porch and side porch.
This is my 5th showhouse so you'd think I'd learn to roll with the punches, but I still get anxious and uptight about it all going right.
And one of my cornerstone vendors had the wrong
install date so we had to cancel the photo shoot scheduled for this weekend.
Hoping to get that back on track as "Casual Living" has expressed interest and I'd love to be able to give my generous suppliers that kind of coverage.
The Serenbe community literally sprang from the landscape and heat of South Georgia, the vision of developers, Steve & Marie Nygren.
The goal is to protect the rural landscape of Chattahoochee Hill country and they've won numerous awards for being sustainable.
For me, showhouses are always places to take risks, stretch boundaries and exceed any creative limitations.
My goal is to generate buzz with color, texture, placement and custom art in multiple mediums.
And I always provide my generous vendors with blog post features, social media coverage, and reviews on sites requested.
I get a lot of questions about how I got into this one and if it's worth it, so I'll be walking you through the steps in a post next week.
Stay tuned and LOVE TO HEAR YOUR SHOWHOUSE STORIES!
Mega Hugs,
Melissa
PS. The house was originally spec, but purchased during construction by the head of GA Tech Architecture
department and his wife, an attorney in a prominent Atlanta firm.
This is to be their weekend getaway house since it's a 45-60 minute commute each way.
