Happy New Decade !
I literally missed the New Year altogether because I was knee deep in writing my upcoming book, Marketing Luxury Design: Attracting the Affluent. I'll be speaking at the Powerhouse Luxury Summit in Chicago on February 5, and the book has to be ready!
Lots of people choose a WORD OF THE YEAR, but that doesn't get you nearly as far as CREATING A COMMITMENT TO ACTION. And using an ACTION WORD to make that a reality.
My action word this year is MULTIPLY. It's what I want to do with every aspect of my life and business. I want to MULTIPLY my impact, my clients, my creativity, my spirit, my joy, my health, and YES, my income!
The move to Scottsdale was AWESOME, and I'm excited and READY TO MULTIPLY!
What's your WORD OF ACTION AND COMMITMENT? (Tap reply and tell me.)
Just the other day, I had a great idea and because I failed to take ACTION it was gone in just 10 seconds. Seriously, our brains fight changes even when it's what we want and need.
You have just 5 SECONDS to act on a new idea before it disappears. That means write it down, send an email, make a phone call, post it on social media. DO ANYTHING! We are all fighting digital distractions, and real time interruptions continually. Your success depends on RAPID ACTION IN THE NOW.
The rule of thumb, according to Mark Victor Hanson (Chicken Soup for the Soul creator) is that our net worth and net value is the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with. Think about that.
Are you scared and disappointed, or excited and thrilled?
You choose the company you keep at every level. This is the perfect time of year to do a relationship inventory and if the folks you hang out with aren't aligned with who you are, what you want and supporting you in your growth, spend less time with them or let them go altogether.
There has never been a truer relationship guide than "a reason, a season, or a lifetime." Use that as your guide. Personally, I've known lots of reasons, several seasons, and just a handful of lifetime. I look forward to more.
The holidays are OVER! (Though I do still have all the decorations up.) It's time to get clear, focused, and moving forward in this bold new year and beautiful new decade.
HUGE HUGS,
Melissa
