So my accommodations last week at market were an adventure in an of themselves.
The first two nights I joined Kurt Jacob Miller and his partner Lukas at a super convenient Airbnb.
It was easy to get into market, wonderfully quiet, and quaint.
The third night was a late night party and divine designer and client Erin Haskell Gourde of Design for the PPL out of Spokane was in town.
She generously invited me to share her accommodation at the Red Lion in the very heart of High Point. With a 7am breakfast I jumped at the chance.
The Red Lion is wildly convenient, and ripe for a renovation. Surprised they haven't been bought by one of the manufacturers as a marketing opportunity.
The fourth night, I finally bunked in the Airbnb I'd booked in Winston-Salem with talented designer Patti Lynn Sharp, who just launched her practice, An Inside Job.
HUGE thanks to Patty Lynn for managing the designer sales at the close of each presentation!
And then, there was night five. I thought I was going to head home but had to attend one last bash at Caracole.
I stayed at the J.H. Adams bed and breakfast, it was absolutely pure luxury. Each room has been done by a different manufacturer, so now I have to try all of them!
They had crazy delicious cocktails at a cozy, elegant little bar, I almost missed the party as I was coaching a designer I'd met there.
The bathtub was the biggest I've ever seen, the room was lovely and they had chocolate gifts for me! It doesn't get any better.
Sadly, the J.H. Adams is already booked for the next millennium during High Point but I'm on the wait list and holding my breath.
Hugs,
Melissa
