Are you waiting for time to market?
Are you so buried in the day to day of your design business that you can't find time to market?
Now, you may think that with so much business, it doesn't matter.
It does. A lot.
The seeds you sow today, bloom in 30-60-90 days.
When you aren't sowing seeds, you're creating a dry spell instead.
It's why so many designers ride a rollercoaster of great projects, no time to market, then no projects, and nothing but time to market.
You've got to find the balance.
Marketing is something that requires daily attention, not just weekly, definitely not just monthly.
And this applies when it's a daily post on IG or FB engaging with your favorite editors, swapping kudos with colleagues, or tips with potential clients.
Or, if you've landed a great piece of PR, gotten a project published, involved in a showhouse, shared design tips on local TV, that all requires distribution through marketing channels.
While it's a nice ego stroke to surround yourself with your framed PR, on the wall isn't doing you any good. (I know, I learned the hard way, and definitely don't fall for the plaque pitch.)
Your winning social marketing routine is one of the HOT topics I'm teaching at International Window Coverings Show in Charlotte in March.
The second session is how to make Instagram work for you, instead of just wasting your time.
You definitely want to check out the FB page as you'll find I'm the only one with half a face up there! (Yes, really, go look.)
And this conference is the place for you whether you love window treatments, hate them or are just scared of them because of the details and complexity.
Window treatments are an incredibly lucrative part of your design practice when you know what you're doing. Learn from the best and put IWCE and Charlotte on your calendar.
Besides, we can connect over cocktails and I can't imagine anything more fun!
HUGE Hugs,
Melissa
