Yes, I'm off again! This week I am participating in Adam Urbanski's Information Profit System workshop in Anaheim. It was simply too good to pass up and I get to connect with my favorite social media maven, Mari Smith! Investing in me and my professional development are a success habit. I'm also going to get a day in Disneyland, I haven't been since I was school age. I imagine everything will feel smaller but the magic persists! Any favorite rides to recommend??

Those That CAN Teach!

Yes, I do know the old adage "those that CAN'T teach." But I also know that one of my best paid marketing strategies is teaching. In fact, that is how I began my design business. I taught adult continuing education at Emory University, Oglethorpe University, and Spruill Arts Center all in Atlanta for a decade. Do you teach?

Here is the fun part; I got paid to market my business! Now teaching didn't make me a living, unfortunately it doesn't make most full time teachers much of a living but it was the reverse of most marketing which requires capital investment. I actually tagged my teaching monies my travel fund and it took me to Australia and New Zealand one year, another year to India, another to Africa on Safari and many more exotic destinations. At the same time I garnered clients.

Keep It Appropriate

The social networks, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN, Ecademy and more are social and professional for most of us. As a veteran of online dating they are not the forum for that. So you can imagine my being caught off guard when an invitation from LinkedIn through another connection started off with "I don't believe in Match.com!" Well, I do and believe strongly that it is wise to keep your personal life and professional life separate. I am always delighted when friends, relatives, and long lost roommates find me online but I keep my personal life pretty personal!
