Good morning,
Excited to be speaking this week at Showhomes Franchise Corporation annual conference held at Opryland Hotel, my old stomping grounds. I worked at Opryland as their Food Purchasing Agent back in 1988 (yikes that is a lifetime ago).
If you haven't ever been, it really is a magical resort, particularly at the holidays with a life size ginger bread house (last year's had cable hook up!) Oh and the place is just a sparkle with lights and they have the dancing waters, fountains that dance to a laser light show, very fun.
They are masters at creating a true experience with their facilities and their service. Do you do that with yours? It's easy to forget that what will stand out most to your client is the experience they had with you, not the sofa they purchased, the coaching result they got, the painting you did for them, or the presentation you provided. It is all about the experience and the follow up. The follow up doesn't end after the sale, in fact that is just the start.
Follow up today is the difference between closing potential business or letting it slide right through your fingers. Deals take longer but they are just as lucrative or more so because they are built on relationships not just connections. Be sure to check out this week's articles on the best way to build relationships and alliances for bigger, better and more lasting profit.

You probably already know the importance of articles. And how they can be the simplest way to generate website traffic quickly. Unfortunately, many don't discover the pivotal difference articles can make. Until it's too late.
So I'm glad my colleague Rob Schultz has created this hysterically funny video on how this source of traffic can revolutionize your business.
And yes ... it comes right from the mouth of a talking dog!
Don't believe me? Check it out! http://budurl.com/fromadog
PS. The link here is an affiliate link, please explore this option at will. I recommend Rob and his programs and products whole heartedly. |

How to Build a Winning Team Even When You Work Alone
While you may be a solopreneur, it doesn't mean you can't work with a team whether virtual or real to take your business (and theirs) farther. As a designer I have a real team that consists of my installers, my workrooms, my artists, my vendors, my deliver talent, my interns, and more.
Yet none of these people or their companies work under me, instead they work with me. We have created a winning and constant relationship of mutual respect, business building, and profitability. We refer business to one another and support each other in every job professionally and even personally. Who is on your team? If you haven't created one, it is time to dive in. This is about creating value relationships that mean your team will stand with you and beside you on every job. Don't wait till you need someone in that place, instead build your team in advance of your need.

Facebook Changes; You LIKE Me, You Really Do!
Facebook is once again going through growing pains, this time it is all about ditching "fans" and instead going to a "like" button. Since we are already used to "liking" posts it seems a natural fit to carry that feeling forward to pages. Fans always did seem a bit contrived and the noise FB received eventually created a change.
But that's not all! Now, you can find that same FB Like button on thousands of other sites across the internet. It is entirely similar to the share feature, but somehow they have taken it farther and are positioning themselves to be the next DIGG or Twitter.
The biggest change that you need to be aware of is ...
