Hey ,
Honestly, I've never understood where that expression came from. I just remember as a kid, when my sister would twist my arm, I'd have to yell "uncle" to get her to stop! If you know the source, let me know, lol.
While my kitchen countertops emerged briefly from boxes, they are now covered in dishware as I can't sort how to adjust the shelves. They have plastic doohickeys that seem like they'll snap in two if forced so I'm hoping for my cabinet man to drop by. The maintenance man is covered up with new property work or I'd call him.
My floors are a bit more apparent, I wrestled the sofa and chairs into a new position last evening solo, now my back is screaming but no time for the chiropractor with deliveries today. And then IT HIT ME, I'm so damn lucky to have FIRST WORLD problems. If my biggest worry is a delivery, damaged furniture from a move, or moving a shelf, I'm so blessed it's insane.
I'm taking this weekend to finish unpacking and count, again and again, my overwhelming bounty of blessings. Take a minute this weekend, the time you would have invested in reading an article (which I apologize, but not back on track yet), and look around your world, your home, your office, your life. Say thank you.
When you've got food, shelter, clothing, and your essentials, you (and I) are way ahead of millions of other people on this planet. I am very grateful.
And to those who have been impacted by Hurricane Sandy and may be without power still, assessing flood damage, or mourning loss, my prayers and thoughts are with you.
Hugs and Happy Belated Halloween,
