Hey ,
I thought long and hard about what to write this week. I could do a post on marketing, more ways to engage on Facebook, how to build your business. But for me, it wouldn't have been real and it simply wasn't my priority. I hope you'll understand.
You see, as you read this, I'm in Connecticut. A dear and wonderful friend, who I considered a mom of sorts, passed away last week. I'm here to remember her, to celebrate her life, and to reconnect with her family.
These are folks I've known for 35 years, longer than I've known anyone else in my life. Moving a lot as a kid, meant not making a lot of lasting friendships. My Connecticut family is really, really important to me. These are the folks that new my own mom last, she died 27 years ago and we lived in Connecticut at the time.
The dear woman who is at peace now was an extraordinary lady. She always knew what to say to lift my spirits after a guy dumped me, knew how to make me smile when work challenges got in my way, and knew how to just listen when I needed to vent. I will miss her always and regret only that I didn't take the time, as I kept intending to do, to get up for a visit in the last couple of years.
So I hope you'll take this nudge to reach out this weekend to someone you haven't spoken with in a long time, someone who lives perhaps at a distance, someone you treasure but in the hectic pace we live in, you just haven't found the time to catch up. Make the effort, take the time, you may not ever get the chance again.
