Melissa's Musings on Moving It Forward:

I thought a lot about not writing this. I thought that I needed to just put on my happy face, pull up my big girl panties, and suck it up. Then I thought, nope you need to know that my life is no more perfect than yours...and the priceless lessons I've learned this week!
This week has been a roller coaster ... I'm having a tough time focusing on the highs, so I'm going to share the highlights of the lows (this is not about hair color!) and see if you can relate.
#1 A client (not coaching) got in touch and said he was "disappointed" in what I'd delivered. I've never had a client disappointed before (I err on the side of over delivery). It cut me to the core and I'm still figuring out what to do with that. Yes, I've taken immediate steps to satisfy, but he is unwilling to discuss so far and he approved work at the start and midway so this isn't making sense. We will resolve it, of course.
Lesson: Realize that business is not personal, don't take that way. You have no idea what else is going in that person's world.
#2 An SEO "expert" I hired (referred by trusted source) at significant investment for one of my sites has created a lot of work for us instead of sticking to her promise of doing the actual SEO work. It also turns out that I know too much about SEO as some of the recommendations feel like gaming to me and I'm not okay with that. AARRGGHH.
Lesson: Stop doubting what you already know and investing in solutions you don't need and experts who don't deliver.

Lesson: Know that no matter what your community asks for, or how well you think you know your community, you can never predict sign ups ... even for webinars you think are no-brainer because you always bring the best to your peeps!
I didn't do a video today because I've really been in knots a lot this week. I don't share that easily or readily. Usually I keep marching forward, this week I've fallen a bit out of step. I've even fallen off FB too as so many well intentioned "friends" will want to dish advice instead of just provide support.
