Melissa's Musings: I had to say NO
Hey ,
I'm still on the "NO" path this week, cleaning up loose ends, and refocusing. And I wanted to share some tips on what to do when you don't love what you are doing, or even parts of what you are doing. Life is too damn short, perishable and unpredictable to waste your time being unhappy!
Delegate it ~
Whether it's personal such as housekeeping and laundry, or professional like designing a website or posting on Facebook, you can delegate it.
Your time is too precious to waste on something you don't enjoy (and probably aren't that good at, so get over it!) And the time you recoup can be better spent doing what you love and making more money (to pay for that delegation resource) or just enjoying life.
There are resources from $5 on www.fiverr.com to $50+/hour on www.elance.com, www.rentacoder.com, www.officeangels.com, go and explore.
Success is a business that fuels the whole of your life, STOP being swallowed whole!
Just Stop Doing It ~
OMG, imagine that you can actually stop doing something and the world won't end and your business won't crash and burn. Seriously, focus on what brings you the most joy and the most income and do just those activities (I hope they are one and the same.)
Let go of things that aren't growing your business which might include blogging, your newsletter, networking with colleagues, social networking on the wrong networks (where your clients don't hang out.)
I know this is blasphemous, but the reality is that you will get more business when you stop the busy work and focus on a maximum of three activities on any given day that put you directly in touch with your market, your prospects, and your existing clients (so you can remind them of your value as a resource.)
And, I could have put this in a blog post for you, but I chose a short cut which today meant simplifying.
So TALK TO ME, what will you either delegate or just stop doing this week?? If you feel like you need permission, ask me I'll give it.
Last week on Twitter I tapped an organizer friend to give me permission to trash too many magazines that are sitting here unread, making me feel guilty. It was insane, they are gone now, still unread and I feel freer, lighter and just stopped doing it!
Hugs,
