Melissa's Musings: I took the easy way out ... oh *&^%

Hey ,

This is hard for me to admit but I had a melt down on Sunday. I only have these when I'm alone but close friends can tell by email or text. (I am loathe to impose my emotions on friends and family, I take full responsibility for how I feel.) I've been wrestling with the rebranding and website and have hit a couple of walls of inactivity (read NO progress.)

What woke me up was reading one of the inspirational daily calendars I have, this one is Women's Wisdom by Christiane Northrup, MD (guys this is relevant!). I have four devotionals at hand, (aka daily inspirations), I read two daily and others when I feel like it. This fell into the latter category.

Well Monday morning I was easing into my day from the frustration the night before and decided to catch up. Lo and behold I read "Remember that deciding to be happy and healthy requires courage and focus. It is ever so much easier to allow negativity and fear to run your life."

Oh $%^&* I had taken the easy way out by allowing myself to totally run down the path of negativity and fear. Here's the freaky part, this calendar of inspiration is double sided, so half way through the year you have to flip it over to access the other side of the pages. Each page has one date on one side and another date, months away, on the flip. The flip side of this day's read was my birthday October 4, total Twilight Zone moment ...

I am not okay with doing anything the easy way, just not my style or desire. So clearly I had to reclaim control of what I needed to move forward on and find the way through it. I am doing that now!

The take away here for you is that it truly is always darkest before the light. That when you are in the middle of fear, frustration, anger, and doubt, remember that is the easy way. The necessary path to happiness, health, and success is to move through it, ask for the support you need (thank you to my extraordinarily patient and talented friends), and do what you can instead of necessarily what you think has to happen.

Ultimately the goal you seek will be within reach, there are times you have to allow it to unfold, allow it come into your grasp, and allow others their part in it. (I am not a tech and can't do this alone; I am not a graphic artist and can't do that piece alone.)

I'm moving forward on this and leaving the frustration behind, it is a real energy zapper. I need energy for this transformation. May your week be the transformation you allow!

Hugs,
Melissa
