Okay, I agree, the headline is harsh, and it's real.

This week I attended a cool networking event for women business owners, I'm going to join the association, it was great.

So why did she think it was okay to put ME and everyone else on her list without express or even implied permission?? Oh YES SHE DID!

All we did was put our card in a bowl for a raffle, there was no caveat that we'd be put on a list. I could assume it but the rules I play by, require that you state either when someone puts their card in or with a small sign, that "you will receive a free copy of my weekly ezine by sharing your card here. If you prefer not to, please put a NO on your card."

This is NOT rocket science, it is proper and appropriate permission based marketing and email etiquette in the social age.

Yes, I have ranted about this before and likely will again because way too many business owners, coaches especially, are guilty of this SIN!

So far, I've been kind and generous, I've not tapped that YES IT'S SPAM button on the unsubscribe. Going forward I will, I'm over this, it zaps my time, energy and attention. And, it's SPAM!
