when you are stuck or stalled in your business whether it’s been weeks, months or years, it’s most likely because you don’t have a successful routine or daily practice that consistently gets business in the door.
You may have had one in the past but for some reason you fell off that wagon and now you feel like nothing is working and you are in a perpetual place of scramble (with some panic thrown in for good measure.)
You are in SPIN, and it’s kind of a like a vortex
because the harder you try to stop it the worse it gets.
Time to change what you are doing to STOP THE SPIN AND GET OUT OF THE VORTEX OF PANIC AND IMPOSSIBILITY.
STEP INTO FLOW AND POSSIBILITY.
Here are 5 Daily Rituals (that I use and my clients use) to Grow Your Business:
#1 Start with Gratitude.
Journal 10 things each morning you are grateful for BEFORE you do anything else (no email, no Facebook, no digital distractions.
You can be grateful for blue skies and sunshine or for the rain that nourishes the plants. You can say thanks for clients, friends, family, and your pet.) You can be grateful for your toothbrush that keeps your teeth clean and for the dishwasher that keeps your plates clean. No matter how big or small, GET GRATEFUL.
#2 Read, Listen, or Watch Something Uplifting and Inspirational
It could be Daily Word or from a religious text if that’s your thing. It could be a
page a day devotional book (mine is dog-eared since I’m in year three with the same awesome book.) It could be a TED or TEDx Talk (if you aren’t familiar look them up on YouTube and open your mind to global genius.) Fuel your mind and spirit with good food.
#3 Reach Out to a Former Client; Connect with a Referral Partner
You aren’t asking for business, you are saying “hello.” You are finding out what they are up to and if there is a resource or connection you can
provide that will be of service. Inevitably they will ask about you (if they don’t then you may not be talking to the right kind of person.) When they do, tell them you’d appreciate their insights and feedback on your latest program, initiative, or project. In getting feedback and insights you will create potential curiosity that opens the door to potential business.
#4 Schedule One Discovery Session (Strategy Session) with a Prospect
Yes, this may sound
terrifying, but if you aren’t doing daily outreach you can’t expect your business to grow. This is NOT A SALES CALL, instead it is a chance for you to DISCOVER if this prospect is a good fit and how you can best serve them. Only then can you begin to make it a conversion conversation. Look for ways to be a resource even if they aren’t a good fit for you (and never force a fit.) Refer them to a colleague or recommend a program.
#5 Contact One Person Regarding Speaking Offline
or Online
So this could be a joint venture webinar partner or an expert putting together a telesummit that you could speak on. It may be the director at a local adult education program. It could be an association director in your local market or a director for a national association looking for speakers for their next national event (are you ready for that?) Speaking and training are the best methods to bring in new clients. It works in interior design, in business marketing, in
coaching, in success consulting, in architecture, in law, in accounting. It works across the board. Speaking and training position you as the expert. You do need the right audiences and paid audiences are even better!
