5 things you do NOT need to make money (and what you do need)

Lately, I've met with a lot of coaches and consultants (yes, creatives too) who are wrestling with "FAILURE TO LAUNCH."

Whether it's "FAILURE TO LAUNCH"  your business, a new package, a higher rate, a brand change, an event or retreat, the impact is the same.

When you "FAIL TO LAUNCH" you kill your growth and stall out your success. UGH!

So I wanted to share with you the 5 MOST COMMON things I see that are stalling you out and that you do NOT need to be a success and make more money.

#1 A Website ~ don't misunderstand me, this is a valuable piece of your brand today, but if you don't have a website or it's not ready, or you struggle with website shame (been there, ack!), it doesn't matter, you can get clients and make money without a website. (CASH IS IN THE CONVERSATION.)

#2 A Logo ~ unless you are Nike or AT&T, almost no one is going to recognize your logo, get over it. Yes, it's fun to have and helps a branded presence but I'm betting if quizzed you wouldn't recognize the logo of most of the competitors you have. Clients don't care about your logo. (LUCRATIVE IS NOT IN YOUR LOGO.)

#3 A Business Card ~ actually I've been to a lot of events where I no longer give out any business cards. I prefer to be in charge of follow up so I'll collect selected other's (not on a card collecting mission, but specific contacts, yes) and then I follow up. (FINANCIAL REWARD IS IN THE FOLLOW UP.)

Yes, two more things you do NOT need are coming, but I have a feeling that by now, you probably want to know what you DO NEED to make more money.

#4 A Business Plan ~ again a very good idea but all the plans in the world aren't going to make you a dime, it's only action that makes you money. I personally work with clients to create a simple "ONE PAGE TO PROFIT PLAN" that maps your model and specifies the actions you need to make money.
(A ONE PAGE PROFIT PLAN IS PROFITABLE.)

#5 A Social Media Footprint ~ does this shock you, coming from someone who clearly has a lot of social media presence? I know more business owners wasting time on social media and missing clients and opportunity. Yes, this can be valuable when done strategically and no more than 2 networks (maybe 3) but the reality is it's relationships that deliver results whether online or offline. (RELATIONSHIPS DELIVER REAL RESULTS AND REWARDS.)
