how to achieve your dream in spite of all the obstacles

Published: Tue, 01/05/16

I actually went offline for almost 3 days between the end of the year and yesterday.

While I'd love to say I was relaxing, the truth is I was packing up for a move in Atlanta.

I had everything mapped out and organized down to the tiniest detail.

A friend was coming up from Atlanta on Saturday (no not a boyfriend, still looking forward to meeting one of those) to help me load the 15' Uhaul, after we picked it up and she drove it to my house, (don't look so surprised, I've moved over a dozen times in this life, and the only time I've had things broken or damaged was with "professional movers.")

I had sweet talked a friend's just-out-of-college son and his cousin to come in from B'ham to drive the truck and do the unloading.

Friday evening, my friend called and said her boss had called unexpectedly and she had to fly down to Florida for some work. (She is his personal assistant and so is on call 24/7/365, makes me glad I work for ME!)

This is where I had a choice.

I could panic, and I briefly indulged in that, complete with some dry heaves and a few tears of frustration.

Then I RE-FOCUSED on my goal of a successful move. Panic didn't serve that.

Being a holiday weekend, I knew my options were limited.

I tried my handyman, he wasn't interested in helping, nor was his helper. (Yes, I would pay them!)

I tried the emergency number for the Uhaul folks, they referred me to a contact but he was booked already.

Then I called the guys that had helped build my place in the mountains and they stepped up.

WHEW, that was close.

Now, I did go get the truck and that was way more of an adventure than I'd planned. I've never driven anything bigger than a very small SUV. I just kept saying to myself "I can do this, I can do this, I can do this." And, lo and behold, I did it!

I also had it 2/3 loaded by the time help arrived. I am so grateful I am in great shape and go to spin and pilates regularly, I'd never have been able to lift everything if I wasn't.

(I didn't used to be in great shape at all, and it does require work to get there. Success in your business won't happen by accident either, it requires strategic effort and action.)

Best laid plans got tipped all over, and I recovered with some creative punting.

, YOUR YEAR AHEAD IS GOING TO require creative punting from time to time and you might feel like panicking instead.

FOCUS on the outcome you want, not the challenging path that lies before you to get there.

It is truly amazing how obstacles will disappear when you STAY FOCUSED on what you want and do NOT focus on the wrinkles and issues.

FOCUS is going to be a cornerstone in the upcoming "Go Beyond" intensive.

And you'll get the right strategies and support to stay FOCUSED ON YOUR BIG GOALS and not on the obstacles that inevitably show up.

(Heck, you may have a list of "won't work because" already! Let's blast through that PERMANENTLY, .)

Got just a couple of seats left, and want you to get the NEW YEAR's SPECIAL RATE!
