what's the wrong marketing costing you?

Published: Sat, 03/19/16

When Amy and I began working together, she was spending a whole lot of time on social media.

She admitted it was kind of fun, but it was also kind of exhausting and there was no ROI on it.

(ROI is return in investment and that's what you need in marketing!)

So all this spinning of her wheels was costing Amy a lot of lost time, and lost leads.

Without knowing clearly who she was looking for and scattering her efforts widely, she wasn't appealing to her RIGHT LEADS.

(Random action yields random results.)

Amy was a health and wellness coach.

I'd seen her do live smoothie demos and teach about nutrition so I knew her connecting power in person.

I recommended she climb off social media for 30 days.

She hadn't been getting clients there, so there was no danger of losing potential clients.

We took time to put together a MOST WANTED poster for her RIGHT LEAD (aka IDEAL CLIENT)

And I asked her if she was willing to do some face to face networking and stop hiding behind her computer.

She agreed, but threw up her hands and said "where will I go?"

Since I'm often "The Grand Googler" for my clients, I researched her city and found 5 networking events in the next 2 weeks.

Now, Amy didn't love networking but she did love meeting in person and that's what I wanted to capitalize on.

(She is naturally social, so this had the potential to be one of her marketing sweet spots.)

By the third event, she was frustrated and asked "do I have to continue?" in a text that night.

I said "Yes, keep going, there 2 more events next week."

She went and the next text I got was my favorite.

"I found my PEEPS! I found my PEEPS!"

Amy had found a networking group that had her RIGHT LEADS (aka IDEAL CLIENTS).

And it wasn't online.

Now, once she recognized her ideal client and had done the deep profile work, it made it so much easier for her to find that RIGHT LEAD online too, over and over and over again.

At the same time, she'd proved that strategic networking (remember I researched the opportunities, it wasn't random groups) produced RIGHT LEADS also.

The first key is to know who you are looking for.

We are going to tackle that in depth in next Wednesday's free webinar training:
"5 Savvy Steps to Getting the RIGHT LEADS into Your Business RIGHT NOW!"

The second key is to know where to look for them and be willing to do what you haven't done in a long while or perhaps ever.

Very few people love networking, but Amy and I had worked on her conversation opener and how to get comfortable.

Voila! She found her RIGHT LEADS (and within 10 days of getting offline and out from behind her computer, she had a new client on board at triple her previous rate!)

Oh and that's an important factor too, you've got be willing to RAISE YOUR RATES.

Your RIGHT LEADS are looking for an expert in your field and expect to invest in your services. REALLY!

I created a super-rich ACTION GUIDE and BLUEPRINT for you to download immediately.

And (drumroll) you've got a tiny video series to start putting strategy into action.

See you on the inside!

Mega Hugs,
Melissa
