A couple of days ago, I'd just finished up an awesome client VIP Day.
My habit is to celebrate events like this with friends, since I sent my client home to celebrate with her family.
Her burning desire had been to create a business model that gave her more income in less time with better clients and she had already begun implementing the system I showed her during
our VIP Day; I absolutely love to see this level of light bulb moments and massive action.
My friend and I had decided to celebrate at a new restaurant, so I tapped the address into my GPS.
I didn't pay close attention to which route it was giving me, but I was surprised when it didn't put me back on the highway.
Suddenly I found myself
in an industrial area having to make a U-turn because I'd wound up behind a dump truck and missed my turn behind him.
Then, the plot thickened, as the GPS wound me into residential neighborhoods and ultimately back onto a main thoroughfare from the completely opposite direction I thought I was in.
Now, I'll confess, I've never had a strong sense of direction and regularly tell anyone who may
be driving, if I'm giving directions and tell you to go right, you probably want to go left instead.
When GPS systems first came out, I was thrilled. I used to be a diehard MapQuest fan.
Once I got to my destination, and I was only 7 minutes late, I realized that often our businesses have GPS (Goal Performance Success) systems that feel like they've gone rogue.
That's that feeling that no matter who hard you work, you aren't going to reach your goal ...
That sinking feeling that you've gotten distracted one more time and are going down unknown rabbit holes ...
The realization that you are losing gobs of time to squirrel chasing and the inevitable overwhelm of too many ways to get where you are going and you aren't clear on
which one to take ...
The timing of this GPS gone rogue was interesting because I'd just left my client where we'd reset her business GPS and eliminated the distractions, honed her focus, and installed the right system that resonated with her down to her toes and she'll be able to not just stay on track, but leap ahead.
Before she was distracted.
Before she wrestled with overwhelm and too many strategies, tools, and techniques and she wasn't clear on the best one to get her where she wanted to go.
I love having that birds eye view of a client's business. I'm far enough away that I can see where you want to go, and I can also see the shortest, most effective path to get you there.
There is nothing more fun than
watching you have that "yesssssssssss" moment when you get the same clarity that I held for you from the start and your goals are now entirely in sight and reachable and you've been able to uplevel your vision. Love that!
