(Tool Time Tuesday) how to say the right thing, every time

Published: Tue, 08/09/16

I began last week with one of my favorite tools, Buffer.

The question I got asked how it differs from Hootsuite (which I am not a fan of and do not use.)

Buffer lets you create schedules and then pushes out the content you've curated automatically, you don't have to reinvent the wheel each time and schedule each piece. Your content will fall into the schedule you've created, (much faster than scheduling each piece in Hootsuite.)

And if you want it to go out "now" or "next" to multiple social networks, you have that option to.

It really is my favorite tool.

Today, I've got another cool tool for you.

One that will help you to always say the right thing (and you don't have to be psychic!)

It's called www.crystalknows.com and it leverages a personality assessment called DISC.

By applying DISC (Driven|Influential|Supportive|Calculating) to someone's profile in LinkedIn, it will determine which profile they fit and then provide you with templated suggestions on the best way to communicate with them.

For example, I'm a D & I, and I like very short, to the point, bullet point communication. It makes me nuts when someone rambles on and on and takes forever. So crystalknows would show you that and how to edit your email so I'd actually read it and reply.

By the same token, I don't just communicate with people just like me, so I need help knowing how to soften my email style for S personalities or provide more analysis for C personalities.

It's incredibly cool and you can get a plugin that works in your gmail and/or your LinkedIn.

Half of our communication is less what we say than HOW we say it and www.crystalknows.com makes sure you are matching your recipient's style.

And you'll get to take an abbreviated DISC assessment so you can see how this works.

If you've ever miscommunicated with a potential client (or a client) or lost a project or job because of something you said, this is going to help a ton.

Mega Hugs,
Melissa

PS. Yes, I will be doing short videos on both tools and tools that are coming up so you can "see" what I'm talking about.
