When I don't have an outside accountability partner, I don't get nearly as much
done.
Oh, I'll have occasional bursts of productivity and announce my wins on Facebook or Twitter...
But, week to week, I'm not the greatest at holding myself accountable to my own priorities.
It's not something I wanted to admit, it's a bit embarrassing.
I simply realized, you might be in the
same boat.
The reason I created the TCC (you'll have to CLICK HERE to find out more) is because I thought that if you are kind of like me, having weekly expert accountability would be a HUGE BOOST.
I got inspired by
a mentor who did this for his tribe and I'm one of them.
And now, if I want to dodge accountability, I dodge my to him reporting once a week.
(Kind of silly because it means I'm dodging my own potential success, or not looking at my incompletions.)
The thing about accountability is that isn't not some verbal dump on a colleague or mentor of what
you got done or didn't and the excuses as to why not.
Nope, not at all.
This is about a short, bullet point email report that will set your next week up at the same it wraps up the week you are in, pretty dang cool and saves you those Sunday nights of week ahead prep.
And when you do it right, gives you a weekend free of work. (Want to know
more? GO HERE)
(You need downtime, to re-energize, to stay sharp, to cultivate creativity, to have fun!)
If you are curious, here are the 4 questions, you answer each week by email:
1. What did you get done this
week?
2. What did you want to get done and didn't?
3. What will you get done next week?
4. What's stopping you or what challenge is in your way?
Now, you can answer these now, but without an expert to receive your email... it's like that tree falling in the forest, does anyone hear it?
But with me on the other end, you are guaranteed:
1. Congratulations and celebration of what you
got done!
2. Encourage to keep going and don't quit on what you didn't do.
3. Inspiration for the week ahead.
4. Insights and solutions to those pesky blocks, issues, or frustrations that seem to be getting in the way.
That's it, now go enjoy your Saturday!
Mega Hugs,
Melissa
PS. I'm serious about this accountability piece making a huge difference. You'll start to notice you got a lot more done than you thought, and you'll also start to notice what you are doing that IS NOT moving the needle forward and dump it or delegate in favor of what will.
Do This.
