One of the keys to finding your balance in business is to create regular
celebrations of what you are achieving.
Without that you’ll find yourself stuck in striving and never arriving.
Now, when I say celebrate, I’m not talking about throwing a party necessarily (though you can).
Instead, I want you to create a series of rewards that will motivate you to get more done.
Otherwise, it all feels like a treadmill with no end in sight and the incline keeps getting steeper…
Here are 5 things to celebrate in your business:
**You got a new client on board!
**You hired a great assistant, virtual or real time.
**You landed that awesome new project.
**You collected a rave review from a happy client.
**You crossed your moolah metric for the month (you choose the metric.)
Here are 5 ways to celebrate your wins:
**Invite a colleague or client to lunch.
**Schedule a spa afternoon or massage.
**Take an afternoon out in nature at the park or hiking.
**Buy yourself that dress, shoes, or jacket you’ve had your
eye on.
**Enjoy a night out instead of in the office (see, I know you are working nights too!)
And the fastest way to reach your goals and points of celebration is with accountability.
Hey, we all make promises to ourselves to get XYZ and usually
PD and Q done, but the reality is that it’s all too easy to slide on those promises.
After all, it’s just to ourselves, we haven’t told anyone else, so there is no one to disappoint but us.
There is also no one cheering us on, holding that space of success and belief in our vision unless…we have an
accountability partner.
I have one and it’s made a HUGE difference. So I wanted to be one for you.
The accountability partner I have asks me just three questions each week. I expanded on that to ask you four.
Here they are, in fact, let’s give this a try RIGHT NOW.
If you want to explore how accountability works, tap REPLY and send me your answers.
- What did you get done this week?
- What did you want to get done and didn’t?
- What will you get
done next week?
- What’s stopping you or what challenge is in your way?
In reply, I’ll do my happy dance for what you got done, review what got missed and let you know if you even need to do it (we tend to try to do too much, I only want you focused on what matters), and provide streamlined strategy for the sticky places.
That question 3 will get you set up for the week ahead and help you avoid Sunday night scramble or Monday morning fires to put out.
I truly look forward to your accountability reports and if you want to try it out, just reply here with your bullet point answers (skip the story that’s keeping you
stuck.)
I promise to reply.
Let’s Prosper by Design!
Mega Hugs,
Melissa
