For some reason when I went to write you today, I went
blank.
I distracted myself with Pandora and my favorite comedy channel.
I wandered about the condo looking for things that needed organizing (my go to procrastination activity.)
I opened the refrigerator a few dozen times, oddly it looked the same inside every time!
I played fetch with my cat
(seriously, she has taught me how to play is quite good at it.)
A dozen ideas came through my head in the meantime...
I started a couple of emails and then deleted them.
And then I said to myself "SAY ANYTHING." Title of one of my favorite movies.
I'm a huge John Cusack fan and this was one of
his sleeper hits.
I almost passed on this email and was going to slide by with an Easter greeting tomorrow, but that just didn't feel right.
So I thought you might like to know that words can fail me.
Ideas don't always flow and I can get seriously stuck.
The best way for me to get going again
is just start.
I don't have to be good; I don't have to be right. I HAVE TO BE IN MOTION.
Momentum works two ways. You can be on a downward spiral and keep going lower, or you can stop and reverse your direction and RESTART what will become an upward progress.
Not writing this would have continued a downward spiral.
Writing this, even if it feels like rubbish, hits RESTART and initiates a new kind of momentum.
That's it.
Today's lesson is about motion and getting yourself into it when you want to do anything but that.
Say Anything... Do Anything... The Rest Will Follow

Melissa
PS. I'd love to hear from you if this has struck a chord at all. I'm wrestling about sending it, but figure I don't spend enough time pulling the curtain back...
