One of my favorite greeting cards, because it is so tongue in cheek, says "into each life a little rain must fall, usually followed by great thunder and dangerous lightning." It is a clear spoof on the usual "followed by sunshine and rainbows." Really the card has it's truth, some days are just tankers. No matter how hard you try to turn it around, it isn't going to turn around. Take the day.
Allow yourself to take the day as one that wasn't yours. It's okay, don't beat yourself up, instead allow yourself to wallow, weep, and get out all of your anger, frustration, annoyance, and sadness. Then look truly and really forward to the day coming up.
Make sure that you do this without infecting others with your anger, frustration or sadness. This day is all about you, it's private. Then the cool part is that no one else will really know that you took that day and will just notice your new peace of mind and positive spirit the day following. Sometimes you have to give in to go forward.
Take ACTION:
1. When you feel your day turning out poorly and you feel genuinely unable to turn it around, accept and agree to allow yourself this day to wallow, weep, and wail when necessary. Feel your frustration, anger, and sadness fully.
2. Write down what you are upset, angry, hurt, frustrated about and by. You will notice that rarely is it entirely someone or something else but instead it is how you reacted to it, how you processed it.
3. Look at how you can start tomorrow anew. Look at how you can shut today clearly behind you and move forward in peace and with a renewed spirit. See the light at the end of the tunnel you feel like you are in, slowly move towards it, allowing yourself to feel fully the emotions you need to feel to get there.

Sometimes you have to allow yourself to wallow, weep, and wail to get to the other side with a smile. #moveitforward
