Do you fall? A friend of mine was heading out of a meeting room recently just in front of me. The room was theatre style with steeply raked seating and shallow steps to reach each row. She didn't see the top carpeted step and stumbled over it.
She caught herself and gracefully decided to continue the fall she'd started so she could get up and get going. She was far more embarrassed than bruised, and reminded me of the incident the following day. I'd entirely forgotten it.
When you stumble in a situation, whether literally or figuratively, do you correct yourself gracefully and keep going? Or instead do you call a full blown time out to wallow in the error, draw attention to it, and create further embarrassment for yourself?
It is your choice. Remember that most people are so caught up in what they are doing, they won't notice your stumble unless you draw attention to it and remind them of it.
