That's the title of a terrific little book by Sir Richard Branson chronicling his business start-up path from being a boy in grade school with dyslexia to founder of Virgin Airlines and so much more.
It is also a wonderful expression to keep in the back of your mind and pull out more often. In this life, we regret more of what we have NOT accomplished than what we have risked. This expression gives you the permission you need to jump in with both feet and take those risks you've been hesitating about. It's also a reminder that there is always a solution, even where you don't see one.
To illustrate this point, some years ago there was a creative consulting company based in India and comprised of 450 of the best creative experts in the world—over half of them held Ph.Ds. General Electric hired them to work on a specific project but because of existing commitments, they kept telling GE they couldn't get it done.
GE took a close look at the company and realized that if they wanted that expertise, they could simply buy the company and then be able to call the shots. It never occurred to the Project Director that this was even a possibility. GE got to a place where they said, "Screw it, let's do it."
