Have you ever noticed that there is a lot of emphasis on diet and nutrition and talk about what we feed our bodies, but very little talk about what we feed our brains? And yet, with a steady stream of negative news coming at us through the TV, the internet, and traditional headlines, it's no wonder our brains are taking a beating.
Your brain is your most precious asset; it is entirely unique to you and creates your world. Take care in what you feed it moment to moment, day to day, month to month and year to year. Look for the positive stories, the uplifting moments, the encouraging events, the inspiring people. They are all around us, they just don't get as much coverage as the disasters.
If you are watching a lot of TV, limit your viewing of violent shows, medical mishap series, and even the reality train wrecks like "Hoarders," "Housewives of (insert your city here)," "Swamp People," and more. Your brain is a sponge and will take in a tremendous amount of stimuli from what you feed it. Your life will begin to resemble what you fuel your brain with.
